I create beaded necklaces that represent big concepts like a timeline of the earth's history or the difference between a million and a billion. They are made with genuine Preciosa Brand silver lined glass beads on high quality beading thread for a stunning visual effect and maximum durability.

This necklace is a color coded timeline representing the history of life on earth. It is about 49 inches long and each tiny bead represents 5 million years! Sections explained below.

Gold	200,000 - present time	Human beings first existed about 200,000 years ago. The single bead represents the length of our reign in comparison to other events in Earth?s history. Since humans have been around for 200,000 years the single bead is 25 TIMES TO BIG and is included merely as a representation. To be accurate this bead would have to be thinner than a sheet of paper.
Green	200,000- 65,000,000 yrs ago	Life exists on land. This is the amount of time between the extinction of the dinosaurs and the arrival of humans.
Orange	65,000,000- 237,000,000 yrs ago	Dinosaurs existed during 3 distinct eras Triassic- 237,000,000 years ago Jurassic - 201,000,000 years ago Cretaceous- 145,000,000 years ago
Green	237,000,000- 430,000,000 yrs ago	Life exists on land
Light Blue	430,000,000- 2,100.000.000 yrs ago	Multicellular life such as plants, corral, and fish began to form and existed in this section. It was still confined to the ocean.
Blue	2,100.000.000- 3,800,000,000 yrs ago	Life emerged and consisted of prokaryotes and single celled microorganisms. They existed only in the ocean.
Gray	3,800,000,000- 4,540,000,000 yrs ago	The formation of the Earth up until life first emerged.

Exact length and number of beads vary slightly in each item. Longer sections are strung by measurement rather than count.

The chart refers to my original timeline necklace with blue for the life in water time periods, and green for life on land. The Purple version has light and dark purple in place of the blue sections. The gold options have 3 colors of gold in place of the gray and blues.

Assembled from new materials by me in the USA. Packaging and printed materials are minimal and made of recycled or reused materials whenever possible.
